Why do you buy Laptop?
I was an oversea student. My friends around myself at that time, most of them got a Laptop. I was wondering why?!!!! Laptop is near double price as the same level of the desktop.I have talked with them for this question. Most of them bought their Laptop from their home country so that they use computer at the first day in Australia. Moreover, they didn't know where can buy computer in Australia when they were new in Australia. Thus, the best choice was buying a Laptop in their home country.
Well, I bought a Desktop in Hong Kong and brought to there, because I think Laptop is cost too much and hard to upgrade. But two years ago, I bought a Laptop in Hong Kong too. At that time, I am already working as Programmer. I need a new computer at home and in some situations, I needed to bring my work between office and home. Thus, this is good to have a Laptop.
I bought a Laptop for good reasons.
No Opensource OS on Australia Dell
I read some articles regarding Dell put Linux on their computers. But I can't find any item with Linux on Australia Dell. I hope we can put Linux on their computers in Australia too. I am a lazy person, I don't want to have my time putting OS into my computer.
back to basic
I have seen Vista. I really don't like that. The interface is much nicer. I found it uses more resources. I just want a computer to go interface and do some word doc. That's all. Please back to basic.
iPhone alternatives
Are there iPhone alternatives? As I remeber, I have read an article, there is a phone looks like iPhone in China. Honestly, I have not an iPhone. I just only watched the movies from Apple. There are some smart phone will have sort of functions like iPhone. But I think they must not multi touches function. Because this is patented. For multi-touches, may be we can say this is no atlernatives.
Documentation is importance too.
I am a opensource programmer. I am looking for some opensource packages for my personal projects. Mainly, they are a new presonal website and a website for my fellowship. They are not some kind of serious projects. But there are some common requirements same as other kinds of commerical projects. Firstly, the packages need to do the tasks I need. Moreover, I need they have some kinds of documentations. Well, you can say they are opensource. I can understand the functions by looking into the codes. But the code is the logic from others people and this kind of task is very time consuming. I really don't want to spend three years just to understand a framework!
